
Roy Mayfield, Ph.D., P.E. (WA), has experience in design and construction support related to foundations, earth dams, embankments, reservoirs, and man-made and natural slopes. His project work has been in many parts of Canada, the United States, South America, Australia and Asia for the government and the private sector, with a strong background in natural resource development. While at BGC, he has co-authored several papers on his technical specialty – seismically triggered soil liquefaction. In 2009, the American Society of Civil Engineers awarded their Norman Medal to Dr. Mayfield and Professor Steven Kramer for their 2007 paper, “The return period of soil liquefaction”. He serves on several review boards within BGC and for external clients.
