Roy Mayfield, Ph.D., P.E. (WA), has experience in design and construction support related to foundations, earth dams, embankments, reservoirs, and man-made and natural slopes. His project work has been in many parts of Canada, United States, South America, Australia and Asia for government and the private sector, with a strong background in natural resource developments.  While at BGC, he has co-authored several papers on his technical specialty – seismically triggered soil liquefaction. In 2009, the American Society of Civil Engineers awarded their Norman Medal to Dr. Mayfield and Professor Steven Kramer for their 2007 paper, “The return period of soil liquefaction”. He serves on several review boards within BGC and for external clients.
