Pete Quinn

Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Dr. Quinn Ph.D., ing., P.Eng., has over 32 years of experience of diverse experience across market sectors and around the world, mainly involving problems of landslides and related geomorphic processes. He has confronted challenging terrain with difficult geological conditions across North America, Central America, South America, and parts of Australasia and Asia. Major projects have been in mining, transportation, pipelines and industrial or commercial development for clients in public and private sectors. His primary interests are in geohazards and risk assessment, and he is also interested in permafrost and geotechnical earthquake engineering. He applies a range of tools in his work and is skilled in terrain interpretation from air photos, topography and aerial or ground reconnaissance, geospatial analysis and landslide susceptibility mapping, and geological investigations for major geotechnical engineering challenges. Dr. Quinn completed his undergraduate training in Engineering Physics at Royal Military College of Canada, a master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering at University of British Columbia and doctorate in Geological Engineering at Queens University.
