Joel Van Hove
Joel Van Hove M.Eng., P.Eng., has more than a decade’s experience specializing in pipeline related geohazards. His work experience is focussed on landslide hazards, including hazard inventory development, probabilistic hazard assessment, landslide investigation and characterization, pipeline stress assessment and landslide stabilization. While specializing in the large scale deep-seated landslides of the western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, his technical work has taken him from the Peruvian Amazon and the landslide prone Appalachians of east Kentucky. Joel’s project experience includes managing multimillion dollar geohazard management programs and serving BGC’s pipeline group as part of the leadership team. His core skills and experiences include development of geological and slope stability models, integration and assessment of geotechnical instrument data, In-Line Inspection (ILI) Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and axial strain data.
