Greg Hunchuk

Senior Geological Engineer

Greg Hunchuk M.Eng., P.Eng., P.Geo., has over eighteen years of consulting experience working on project assignments with an overlapping engineering geology and geotechnical engineering focus.  He completed his undergraduate training in Geological Engineering at the University of British Columbia and has a master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Alberta.  He has experience in geohazard assessment and remediation and geotechnical design and construction in mining, oil and gas transmission, power transmission, transportation, and forestry industry sectors in Western Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, and Turkey.

Mr. Hunchuk has been involved in a multiple of resource development projects ranging between scoping-level, pre-feasibility design, feasibility design, and detailed design, providing assurance that geological factors regarding the location, design, construction, and operation of civil engineering works are recognized and accounted for.  Applying a knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology, he has engaged with a wide range of techniques for geotechnical site characterization, including terrain interpretation, surface mapping, geophysical surveys, test pitting, geotechnical drilling, in-situ testing, instrumentation installation, and laboratory testing.
