Gabriel Hensold

Senior Engineering Geologist

Gabriel Hensold, M.Sc., P.Geo. (BC), is an Engineering Geologist with a broad range of experience characterizing project sites in both rock and soil formations and specializing in problems related to slope stability and landslide hazards. He integrates geomorphological interpretation, surface mapping, and subsurface investigations to develop engineering geological models of project sites and is interested in the effective use of software tools to manage geospatial data and develop geological models.

Gabriel’s project experience includes open pit slope design, terrain and geohazard assessment of proposed pipeline routes, characterization of large landslides crossed by highways/railways and design of stabilization measures, and foundation characterization of rockfill tailings dams. He has coordinated site investigation activities including surface mapping, test pitting, various drilling methods, instrumentation, geophysical surveys, and laboratory testing. He has worked on several projects in Latin America and speaks fluent Spanish.
