
Derek Hrubes, M.Sc., P.Eng. (SK), P.E. (AK, TX, WA, CO), is a Project Engineer and Manager with more than 16 years of experience in engineering design, project management, construction management, resident field engineering support, geotechnical modeling, hydrology modeling, hydraulic modeling, land surveying, technical training, stability monitoring, and monitoring equipment installation for a wide variety of national and international projects. Derek’s general fields of focus include civil, mining, hydrology, hydraulics, geotechnical, environmental and transportation. He has been involved in numerous mining facility projects throughout the following stages: alternatives analysis, site selection, conceptual design through detailed design, construction, operation, and closure. This has included temporary and permanent waste dumps and stockpiles, tailings storage facilities, heap leach pads, sediment ponds, stormwater ponds, diversion ditches, and pipelines.
