Claudia Medina, Ph.D., P.Eng. (Chile) has more than 15 years of consulting, research, and teaching experience. She has a diverse background in applying the principles of geotechnical and earthquake engineering mining projects, both in Chile and internationally. Her experience includes site characterization for engineering design, geotechnical design of foundations and earthworks, liquefaction and lateral spreading assessments, slope stability assessments and project management. Dr. Medina has been also involved in numerous numerical modeling studies including dynamic deformation analysis of tailing dams.  Over the past eight years, Dr. Medina has been involved in independent third-party geotechnical tailings review programs for Freeport McMoRan and Lundin Mining Corporation.
