Brett Eaton

Principal Geoscientist

Brett Eaton, Ph.D., P.Geo. (BC) has over 25 years of experience as an environmental consultant and a researcher. He is an expert in assessing the impacts of land-use and climate change on river processes and ecosystems, and has experience with river restoration design, watershed hydrology, regional hydrologic modelling, terrain stability analysis, and geohazard identification and mitigation.  Brett holds an appointment as a Professor of Geoscience at the University of British Columbia, where he teaches a range of undergraduate and graduate courses and maintains an active research group.  His research is focused on the geohazards of steep streams and fans, and the influence of extreme weather events, forest fires, and land-use changes on river processes. To date Brett has supervised 17 Masters and 11 Ph.D. students, and published over 60 journal articles, conference papers and book chapters.
