
Alan Edmunds
Senior Environmental Engineer
Alan Edmunds, B.Sc., is a Senior Environmental Engineer practicing mainly in Chile. Alan’s area of expertise is hydrological and hydrogeological engineering in mining projects, both in Canada and internationally. Alan has worked on numerous projects in Chile, Argentina, Australia, Canada, and the Dominican Republic. He has developed extensive experience in alpine environments and cold regions, including hydrological and hydrogeological field investigations, water quality and isotope studies, permafrost assessments, curtain grouting, mine closure support studies, and instrumentation planning, installation and monitoring. He has further developed numerical cryo-hydrological water balances for the Andes, adapting the model to various projects. He has led technical teams on the surface water and groundwater subjects, integrating these disciplines for environmental assessments, permitting, and compliance. Alan is an experienced Project Manager and enjoys building and working with multidisciplinary teams to implement creative solutions.
