The Role
One of BGC’s key challenges is to convey to the world how we are achieving our goal “To be recognized globally for its leadership in solving the world’s most critical applied earth science challenges by 2025”.
In support of this goal, BGC is looking for a Marketing and Communications Lead to join our team. In this role, you will help define target markets, marketing campaigns, and related strategies. BGC’s corporate business strategy, stories, and voice will be communicated internally and externally through the programs you design. As Marketing and Communications Lead, you will be supported by an internal team and will also be very hands-on in the execution of marketing and communication plans, and will report to the Senior Management Team.
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
- 7+ years of experience leading communications and marketing activities for a progressive business, with preferred experience in an engineering or science-based industry
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent training in marketing and communications
- Proven experience translating technical concepts and information into marketing and communication assets for various audiences
- Demonstrated experience defining successful strategic marketing and communication plans and putting them into action
- Specific experience incorporating corporate websites, corporate intranet sites, and social media into a marketing and communications plans is required
- Experience leading a team to deliver a marketing and communication program consisting of multiple concurrent initiatives and campaigns
- Experience measuring the results from marketing and communication campaigns and proven ability to change strategy or tactics as necessary
- Experience working in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment

Location
BGC’s Vancouver, BC, Kamloops, BC, Calgary, AB, or Edmonton, AB offices are preferred. Other BGC locations may be considered for exceptional candidates.
