BGC Engineering Inc. (BGC) is an international consulting firm that provides professional services in applied earth sciences. BGC is seeking fall/co-op student engineers and geoscientists. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, relevant work experience, and a desire to travel and work in diverse and remote conditions.

These projects will include field work which may consist of drilling, sampling, mapping, and other geological testing. Field work may be required, which may involve 2-3 week long field stints in remote areas, and often multiple shifts (i.e. a scheduled rotation).

Drug and Alcohol Testing
When working in the field, BGC staff are required to comply with clients’ drug and alcohol policies. BGC has a drug and alcohol policy to ensure compliance to our client needs and to ensure the health and safety of everyone. You may be required to take a drug and alcohol test prior to field work, this could be requested within your first week and at subsequent times as requested. It is important to note that some clients require random drug and alcohol testing, along with testing in the event of a health and safety accident or incident on site.
BGC requires that you have a valid driver’s license and that you are able to drive a ¾ ton field pickup truck. BGC requires you to submit a driver’s abstract to allow for a safety review of your driving history upon hiring.
A valid passport. You must be willing and able to undertake fieldwork, sometimes for weeks in duration at remote and rugged sites, both domestically and internationally. Please note you must be able to work in Canada and/or the United States and we will assist you in obtaining visas as necessary.
