Les r\u00e9sultats de l&#8217;analyse peuvent prendre plusieurs formes, notamment les ratios avantages-co\u00fbts, le co\u00fbt pour sauver une vie statistique et les estimations des co\u00fbts du cycle de vie.  <\/p>\n<p>Pour calculer un rapport avantages-co\u00fbts, les avantages sont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s en termes de valeur actualis\u00e9e de la r\u00e9duction attendue du risque annualis\u00e9 r\u00e9sultant de la strat\u00e9gie de gestion des g\u00e9orisques (obtenue par une r\u00e9duction de la probabilit\u00e9 et\/ou des cons\u00e9quences de l&#8217;\u00e9v\u00e9nement). Le co\u00fbt repr\u00e9sente le co\u00fbt total sur l&#8217;ensemble du cycle de vie de la strat\u00e9gie de gestion, y compris les co\u00fbts d&#8217;investissement, la valeur actuelle des efforts de surveillance et d&#8217;entretien permanents, et les co\u00fbts de renouvellement si la dur\u00e9e de vie des mesures d&#8217;att\u00e9nuation est plus courte que celle de l&#8217;infrastructure \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger. Les co\u00fbts de financement, les effets de l&#8217;inflation et d&#8217;autres consid\u00e9rations sont pris en compte dans le taux d&#8217;actualisation choisi pour les calculs de la valeur actuelle. La raison principale en est que la plupart des co\u00fbts sont initiaux, alors que les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices de la r\u00e9duction des risques peuvent s&#8217;accumuler sur une tr\u00e8s longue p\u00e9riode. Les taux d&#8217;actualisation g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement utilis\u00e9s dans ces types d&#8217;analyses peuvent r\u00e9duire consid\u00e9rablement les avantages potentiels qui peuvent persister pendant des d\u00e9cennies, voire des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations, dans l&#8217;avenir. Dans cette situation, plusieurs facteurs peuvent justifier un examen plus approfondi avant de renoncer \u00e0 une strat\u00e9gie de gestion potentiellement co\u00fbteuse, mais efficace. Il s&#8217;agit notamment d&#8217;un traitement plus attentif des cons\u00e9quences des g\u00e9orisques, de la valeur attendue des infrastructures, des taux d&#8217;escalade des cons\u00e9quences et des augmentations potentielles de la probabilit\u00e9 des \u00e9v\u00e9nements.<\/p>\n<p>Les g\u00e9orisques qui endommagent ou d\u00e9truisent les infrastructures peuvent avoir des cons\u00e9quences tr\u00e8s diverses. Il peut s&#8217;agir de co\u00fbts d&#8217;\u00e9valuation technique, de conception et de r\u00e9paration, qui peuvent inclure \u00e0 la fois des r\u00e9parations de l&#8217;infrastructure et la stabilisation du g\u00e9orisque lui-m\u00eame.
